I have laid before the Lords Commissioners
of His Majesty's Treasury Sir G. Grindle's letter of
the 20th instant (45450/23) regarding the g1 note issue
of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.
In reply I am to say that My Lords concur in
the Duke of Devonshire's proposal to approve an
increase of the authorised issue of gl notes from
$2,000,000 to $3,000,000 on the same conditions as are
attached to the present issue.
